Changing The Television Caused Murder

Switching TV channels ended in murder

A 20-year-old Norwegian Pakistani man, who is charged with the murder of his 18-year-old sister-in-law, admitted guilt when the case against him started Monday.

What started as an argument regarding what TV channel to watch ended in murder. The defendant claims that he was influenced by an evil force, according to the Norwegian News Bureau (NTB).

“I deserve to get punished for what I did,” said the man, when the murder case against him stated in Oslo.

The Norwegian Pakistani is charged with the murder that allegedly took please in an apartment on Mortensrud, August 31, 2001.

During the argument about what TV channel to watch, the woman allegedly threatened to tell the defendant’s uncle that he had hit her. The defendant interpreted this to be such a threat to his honor that he stabbed the woman 11 times with a kitchen knife. According to the charge, one of the cuts hit the woman’s carotid artery, and she died as a result of the injuries.
