Freedom on the internet soon to be gone

Here is a chilling account of internet oppersion as published in an edition of (The London Independent) by author Daniel Howden.

"...China remains the benchmark in censorship. Bejing hs cajoled major U.S. playes such as Google, Microsoft, and Yahoo inot adapting their sites and services to suit the censors. A Chinese Web surfer typing the words 'democracy' or 'freedom' or 'humna rights' into their server will probaably recieve an error message announcing: ' This item contains forbidden speech."'

Some of you may sit around and laugh at this saying tha scenario can never occur here in America, here are some more headlines: "China again tightens control of online news and information..." or "China shuts down 47,000 'harmful' internet cafes." Or "China charges U.S. monopolizes the internet, seelks globalb control" and "EU wants shared control of internet."

Global internet control. What we are actually talking about is "Global control" They are the same thing.

The United Nations is looking to become the internet police "...to ensure a fair sharing of the internet for the benefit of the whole world."

I have never seen the U.N. do anything that benefits anyone but themselves. The internet was invented by the U.S. and noone needs to be in control of it but us.

That being said, our own federal government has now been asking for records from "Google and Yahoo" as well as others to see what U.S. citizens are searching for on the internet. This is all been done under the guise of national security and "its for the children" .

Why does the world government care what I look at??? Porn, horror, gun websites, political thinktanks and so on. Its my business, I am not hurting anyone.

What we can all do and this means "EVERYONE" is write and call our represenatives in government and tell them we do not want any government telling us what we can and cannot do in the privacy of our own homes.

Then we need to send a message to businesses like Yahoo and tell them we do not appreciate them giving information about us to the federal government.

By the way, when Google was asked to turn over this information they told the US govt. to "stick it" Kudos to them.

Sorry for the length but I think this is kind of important.
