Another thing that bugged me about the ending was the fact that they were killed off by A FRIGGIN COLD. Sure, that was in the original book, but the book didnt really make a point of saying that they had been observing us for millions of years. In the book, it was more like "Heh, they only watched us for a couple weeks. Guess we showed them that planning pays off!". This was more like "Hey! They watched for millions of years and didnt realise they could cath a cold. Stupid martians...". Another thing along the same lines: Why didnt they die when the came here initially to "plant" the tripods? The whole thing is a plot hole as far as Im concerned.

Yet another thing that bugged me. Speilberg tried to make us "feel" for the family, yet they were some of the least likeable characters Ive ever seen:rolleyes:
