Right on, Shanks. I understand what you're saying now. My paternal gran has an Irish great-grandfather on her English side (English and Irish mix), but mostly, she's Cherokee. My mom's side is where the Irish is. As a matter of fact, my mom's bloodline is the reason I don't look like my dad's side of the family. My dad is the only one of his sibs that doesn't have DARK brown eyes.
I just wanted to point out that it really get's on the Irishs' nerves. They're like, "Here to check out your geneology?" I'm like, "I don't give a fuck." It's cool to see the different cultures that have helped make American (if we can have one yet), but all in all, we're just, Americans. That's what I tell folks in Europe. I'm American. Too young a nation to discount our ancestry, but too old to define ourselves as such.
