How do you define one?

Thinking about my earlier post, I do have to state that most of the bashing (or flaming?) in threads is usually aimed at people who merely post in order to rant about hating horror movies, whatever the titles happen to be, without any additional input.

You're right, It'sAlive75. Newbies bear the heavier load of making the intiative to interact in the threads, so regulars have a chance to get to know them better. That's not to say that regulars need not take up their end of the equation. There are many who do.

I do think it's a two-way street and from personal experience, there's been a lot of interaction with friendly regulars who've had very interesting input in the discussion that I happen to be very interested in.

I don't understand that, Dante'sInferno. Isn't it for the purpose of building an internet community of individuals around the world who share a common love for horror, that HDC forum exists?

While the bond -- as varying in degrees as it may be -- shared among HDC forum members often comes in full and ruthless force against glaringly stupid posts from newcomers, I would draw the line against bashing newbies for the simple reason of having gone through the ordeal myself.
