I don't think so.
I know I love seeing people get massacred and horror is definately therapy, so I want to agree with that theory. I think that it might be the parents and not the movies themselves that have to do with more horror fans having traumatic experiences.
You remember the kids who could never watch horror movies (or R rated movies), strict parents etc. I think having lax parents that don't know/care about what you're doing/watching has it's downs. I never had any limits on anything really, it's a lot easier to fuck up that way. Not that I would have wanted it another way, but my point is that without "help" it's easier to get into shitty predicaments.
