I see where you're coming from, but if they didn't add any new material, then people would get bored, and probably pissed, because they just coughed out money to see something they already have in their collection. I'm not saying that remakes should be chock-fulled with new and improved stuff. I'm just saying that adding a few new things in a remake isn't a bad idea. Now, the movie version of a book shouldn't have anything new added to it (unless it needs it desperatly) because you want to see something you read be performed for you. You don't want anything new because you never seen what you read. You just used your imagine. It's a lot different than a remake.
