While it may not be horror in every sense of the word, I think Joe Dante's Homecoming was brilliant. I don't like to watch political films or tv series, but this is different. Not because zombies are putting in their votes for president, but for the episode's jab at politics and all their little games. One can hardly fake surprise if it were true.
I have yet to see Deer Woman.
SideNote:
A fellow cinephile once made mention of the fact that of all the episodes, Mick Garris' is the only one that "looks" like a made-for-television production. After giving it some thought, it is quite noticeable how the "film" directors have the skill and creativity to break out of the tv-production budget and shoot a tv episode that's bigger than life.
In the back of my mind, while watching Chocolate, I couldn't help but think it reminds me of Twilight Zone, not thematically of course...but visually.
Have any of you noticed in any of the episodes?
