Serious horror? I don't know... I can't really think of too many that don't have the cheese factor. I suppose the classic horror movies are more serious. I'm guessing that Dracula, Nosferatu, The Phantom of the Opera, The House on Haunted Hill, The Mummy, and Frankenstein are all considered serious. It depends on what you consider serious I guess. Do you like horror for the blood, guts, and gore? Or do you like it for the ambience?
House on Haunted Hill? Serious?

Scuse me for a sec...

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH AHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA HAHAHA

Its a great movie, but serious? Not even close.
