Most notably, kuru, which is from the eating of human infected tissue. It's a progressive disease of the central nervous system which people often have less than a year to live once symtoms start to occur. Also known as laughing sickness due to the outbursts of laughter that occur in the second phase of the disease. It's pretty much like Mad cow disease for people. :)
It's believed to have only existed for ten or twenty years though (starting in the 50's) which is also extremely weird.
