There was something on the pro-cannabis link you posted about also indulging in LSD if you wish, therefore its inclusion here is a reflection on that - apples & oranges are still both fruit, as you will agree (whatever their specific differences).

It is not uncommon for cannabis users to jump on their high horses in the face of the establishment, but defending the drug by weighing it up against harder (legal and illegal) substances is hardly correct and does not justify promoting it as comparatively safe.

The "right to smoke" debate will rage on, but jobs or no jobs regular and heavy pot users are more disconnected from normal society than those who do not indulge in mind-altering THC - this is increasingly leading to non-productiveness, through irrational and psychopathic thought as much as lethargy.

The medical conditions you mention - cancer, eating disorders and panic attacks - are in fact possible symptoms of consuming weed in the first place.

Alleviating these by smoking more might seem somewhat counterproductive?
