Okay. Here it is in a nut shell.
My very beautiful over sexed English Professor in a classed based solely on Horror... said that female vampires possibly had fangs because of a notion of reverse sexuality- women as inserters. I raised my hand and said, "I think female vampires have fangs because they're vampires, and vampires have fangs."
We were studying Dracula. I could see her point, given the Victorian era, but I don't think Stoker or any of the other lesser known vampire spinners thought about it that much. I think they were really trying to keep to the myth, especially Stoker. He was an Irishman for Goddess' sake, they are the story-teller's story-teller. Their whole culture revolves around stories.
