Hi friend.
Reading your post honestly made me stop and think for a moment of the sound of when you jump in sonic the hedgehog.
Then I thought of the music that plays when you die in wonderboy. Then, I started wondering why so many 8 and 16 bit characters kinda bounced, then fell down the bottom of the screen, every time you die, I mean, are they making a last ditch effort to live or what?...I then momentarily paused to think of smoked salmon, cream cheese, avocado, capers, lemon juice and ground pepper on a lightly grilled focaccia, then wondered if Ill have a nippy little tune play when I die...and finally, I realised I'd forgotten what you were talking about.
