Oh yes. The opening scene was very innovative.
"Well, we've got TWO monsters this time...we'd better get right into this shit..."
"But what if the audience gets too scared?"
"THE AUDIENCE??!? Fuck 'em. They paid to see a horror film. And that's what they're gonna get."
This was the development of the "action film mentality" later to be commonly applied to horror films, big and small.
Just a mininum of talk, to explain whose grave they were robbing, and then WHAMMO. Great stuff.
