The people that I know and hang out with personally are NOT whiny/depressed people...Who wants to be brought down by people like that?...BTW...Check the stats on your 'depressed, medicated' people, MANY are wealthy, white and 'look normal'...odd, huh?...I only know of 2 people (that live near here) that are on anti-depressants, and they wouldn't be considered 'goth' by any stretch of the imagination, as a matter of fact, they don't even like the way 'goth' people dress...

I've been on this forum for nearly 2 years...So has my daughter...You have met Sergio, too...Many people call us 'goth'...Have we ever seemed depressed or suicidal to you?...I'm usually always happy...Of course, we ALL have our moments and have to deal with life's little 'setbacks' at times...And we are far from illiterate...

Neither me, my family, nor any of our friends have ever stolen anything...And I don't know of anyone that is involved in any 'criminal activity'

I have never heard of any domestic disputes, wife beating, or child abuse in the goth community that I am familiar with...

I don't know any 'goths' that are considered 'whores'...Well, okay, there is this one guy...but...We just say he's popular with women:)...

The people I know can carry on deep and intelligent conversations, and even debate topics without becoming enraged and/or beligerant...Most are very creative, talented, witty, introspective people...They all have jobs and pay their own bills...They are musicians, artists, designers and writers, in addition to having 'normal jobs' at the same time...One is an airport security guard, one works in a warehouse, 2 work at Hot Topic :p...And the list goes on and on...

Some of us DO shop at Hot Topic, because we don't really care much for the tight, lowcut jeans, and skimpy, halfshirts that you can't breathe in, that you find just about anywhere else these days...

AND...The way we dress IS 'normal' to us...

BTW...People usually DO tend to get 'defensive' when they are being insulted/attacked...I don't think that's so much a 'goth' thing, as it is a HUMAN thing...

Although...I would like to point out that I am not being defensive at this time...I'm only stating my opinion based on my knowledge and experience pertaining to this particular topic...


You can't judge an entire group of people based on the actions of a few...


And, honestly Fluff...No offense...But, I'm not surprised that some people wouldn't be very interested in talking to you...Some people click, and some people don't...Some types of people get on other people's nerves ;)
