Its a commentary on the three stages of socialism.
The first being the emergence of a worker's movement committed to socialist revolution, secondly the achievement of political power and expropriation of the capitalists, and finally a period in which the workers learn how to be owners and rulers and cast off the psychological and ideological dross of the past.
I mean, that's what I got out of it.
