As for horror films affecting your mind, did you ever think that the reason why we watch them is because we have been stripped of our instinct to kill. Chimpanzees go to war with each other and the things that they do to one another are unspeakable. I think since we have become a civilization some folks cant deal with the instinct to kill something, and it is a natural instinct, for food, to survive, for pleasure. Serial killers for example can go out and murder lets say 10 people and think nothing of it. Not because of films they watched or books they read but because that instinct to kill hasnt been shut off in their minds, and if it is only instinct it cannot be definded as right or wrong.
