As far as what Hudson said about it I guess that's just her view, if everything is cool in her house she doesn't care what goes on outside of it. I don't feel that way, I also don't as she said worry about my girl cheating all the time, not because I don't care but because I trust her.
I'm not quite sure if she realized what she did, she just gave a traveling musician who most likely has his fare share of groupies the green light.
