Yeah "Deep Red" just didn't seem to get you intrested in the characters. I think the story was just 2 dry for my liking.

Also I didn't get the part about the missing painting. There was no missing painting just the lady, so why did he think the painting wasnt there when the mirror was still there and the painting acting as the killers background. I dont know it just didn't set well with me because everything on the walls were still there. I thought the movie was so so but I liked "Suspiria" and "Opera" much better.
