OK here goes...
I used to play straight up METAL stuff, which turned into prog-metal, which turned into jazz fusion, which turned into industrial somehow, i just play all kinds of shit.
basically I went through all of the typical guitar dork chop based stuff for years and ended up not knowing how to write a song, but I had great chops. So I had to put all of that stuff on the backburner and just write about 20 shitty songs or so, shitty songs that I AGONIZED over, until I started to feel comfortable with songwriting. Throwing the chops back in is fun and can be meaningful too, but its kind of like karate. A karate master doesnt just go out on the street and kick your ass so you respect him, you know? So I try to stay away from that stuff unless its really necessary.
I'm really into production, and I believe in using the studio as a creative tool rather than trying to go after that "correct" sound that is "pleasant" to the ear. I do some production and liscensing music for different things.
I'm in a few bands, one is an electronic/rock band (think Stabbing Westward, NIN ...) there are a few other side project kinda things as well.
I hope to land a gig as touring guitarist for the group Snake River Conspiracy in a few months, dunno if anyone here has heard em.
I also do sessions and gigs for different pop artists in and around the bay area, and I give guitar lessons too.
I just like music, from industrial to the beatles to dr dre to stevie wonder... its just pointless to list this stuff out, but thats kind of my story.
