And you know what ! fuck that! "Alternative" is a name for bands that are unique and have different sounds you can't label.
Like Radiohead, Talkingheads, The Pixies, all bands that you can't label easily.
Green day is fucking softcore/emo! No self respecting punk band would call their album a "Punk Opera".
