Strange/Funny animal behaviour...
Just thought I'd write this after witnessing something one of my cats (phantom) does...I have a broom...like, one of the ones made out of natural wood-like material for bristles...and yeah, my cat eats it, sits there licking it, and occasionally rips peices off.
He also eats flowers, and the dead leaves that fall off my chilli plant.
Also, the same cat seems to enjoy going up onto high places, simply to KINDA ambush you - you see him, he sees you, he cries, and jumps down.
Oh, and he likes to eat very spicy things.
My female rats do this thing where they have stand-offs, if you've ever seen this, it's really funny...they do this when they're moved into a new cage, every time, I guess they're having power disputes - but they do this, and then start grooming eachother, then have another stare-out, then groom eachother....and so on and so forth.
That reminds me, my small female rat, wil groom ANYTHING, including the guineapig, which is such a stupid freak that it just starts squeeling in panic...but yeah, it's funny, the little one ALWAYS does the grooming, even with way biggest rats. She's a clean freak I guess - she's been known to give manicures with her teeth, and attempt to clean ears and hair before too.
The ferrets I own...well, they're just constantly doing crazy shit, waaaay to much to go into, but they're always entertaining.
My OTHER cat, Dusk, uses the litter...and for some reason, when he does...he scratches it around for like a half an hour afterwards.
and not just the litter, but the floor, and door of the enclosure it's in too. PSYCHO!
That, and, he usually sits in front of a column heater, he leans right up against it too, so much so that if you pick him up, he's unpleasantly hot...- he's grown so used to this that he even sits in front of it with a stupid look on his face, when it's OFF.
I used to have a great dog, Ned (R.I.P) a three legged cattledog/german shepherd, first of all, he could still run WAY faster than me...Also, he'd dissapear from my yard on a daily basis when I was at early primary school (he knew the area super-well) and would return every afternoon. One time my mother decided to follow up on this, and had a look around.
He was visiting a local factory, at lunchtime, every day. All the workers new him SO well...said they felt sorry for him, and fed him every day - Way to milk the sympathy, Ned.., anyways, this was harmless enough, so we let it continue - he always WAS a rather chubby dog.
Also, he'd sleep by my bed, and do that thing dogs do...yknow? My hand would be at the side of the bed, and he'd sit there, nudging it onto his head...it was funny, and cool...but goddamn sometimes I just wanted to sleep.
My dog Loki - as well as biting things like chainsaws (recently), lawnmowers and other noisy/mechanical things, he also attacks inanimate objects, such as swings in the park - if I let him go, he will literally spend hours grabbing a swing and trying to rip it down, put it this way - you DON'T want to be on a swing with him around. He also attacks trolley wheels - he even flipped one over once.
He also has this thing, when he's in the car with us, at stop lights, if there happens to be a bus, or a motorcycle - he wants a fight, you should see him, it's fucking hilarious.
He's a great dog though, the kindest nature you could ever know.
So, that's all I can really think of for now...I'll let y'all know if anything else comes to mind.
So, I'm assuming I'm not the only one in here that has witnessed some strange and funny animal habits - so, if you've got time, let us all know about some of the crazy shit you've seen in your time.
