i wouldnt see an issue with it. as long as hes doing sOMETHING. as said above, has to do with discrimination

my friend's twin brother (fraternal) is autistic. i remember he would always be in his tree, or on the floor picking up leaves from the tree, or in the neighbors yard picking the leaves from their tree, or at my house picking th leaves from my tree... you get the idea

anyway, in the recent years hes gained tons of weight. weird cuz he was soo bone thin.

as for the tree, he finally fell out of it one day, broke his arm, and that was the end of the tree

well he doesnt live at home anymore, he lives in a 'home.' you know what im talking about. at first glance it would sound shitty, but hes learned to speak and read much better. he is also better around peopel, animals. the home is a pretty seroius place, and hes only allowed to come home for 2-3 days every month.

anyway, hes working at a restaurant now. not really serving, but u know, remedial type stuff.. custodial/prep, whatever.

i was so surprised she told me this. cuz i could remember all he did was pick leaves. but now hes got a job!! i dunno how he compares to your friend, but just an idea...
