i hate to say it - but it's true !
i dig the stuff before my time - far more than the stuff after ..
not because it's noisy - i could care less about that - 'bring on the noise !!'
- but because it's uninspired rehashed flavor of the month watered down poop.
every now and then i'll find an exception ... but it's rare and i just dont have the energy to wade through waist deep streams of shit to find one or 2 good bands these days ..
like every other aspect of the arts - there isnt much left to do in music - creatively ..
i dont know what the cure is .. what will give is a new direction ..
we've already recycled the 50's 60's 70's 80's
we've combined 'world music' influences with rock ..
whats left to do !? where to go next ?
i know music doesnt have to fit into those categories - and shouldnt - but in the last 30 or so years these are the emerging trends ... finding pure good rock and roll - that stands up on its own terms is a rarity - because thats not the way the music company execs think - and they rule the planet - musically.
