Chemistry Teacher Douses Fellow Teacher And Students With Liquid Nitrogen
Police: Chemistry Teacher Douses Coworker, Students With Liquid Nitrogen
Teacher Suffered Burns To Neck, Shoulders
Mercer, Pennsylvania -- A Mercer County chemistry teacher is accused of dousing a fellow teacher and two students with freezing liquid nitrogen.
Police said Scott Griffis, 34, walked into an English class at Sharon High School on June 1 and poured the chemical onto the teacher's head.
The victim continued her lecture so as not to disrupt her class.
She later went to a hospital with chemical burns to her neck and shoulders.
During the investigation, two students came forward and said Griffis poured liquid on them, too.
Griffis faces a preliminary hearing June 21.
School officials won't say if Griffis has been disciplined.
