This thread seems to be an examination of how the viewers of the films interpret the myth, and what they consider believable within the context of the myth...it's funny how much a person can care about the media crap they watch! For example, it really deeply bothers a lot of people that VAN HELSING was a piece of crap. It's just a movie. Why is a movie so important?
I have always felt that a decent movie will sort of get inside your head and convince you of its reality to the point that you wonder about the details the film isn't telling you.
Like, let's say that Medusa's stare can turn you to stone. Okay, sure. But...will it work if you see her reflection in a mirror? How about in a puddle of water? Will a photograph of her stare turn you to stone? (Or, will you stare at a photograph of Sharon Stone?) Maybe a photo will work, but how about a 2nd generation photocopy of that photo? Will that turn you into Shredded Wheat?
