What it comes down to is that America was started by Puritans, people so anal that 15th Century English people thought they were tight-asses.

a lot of that mentality has trickled down through the generations. I lived in europe a third of my life, so i dont really see nudity as a big deal either, but Bree is from Missouri originally and has some very strong opinions about it.

Understanding it wont really help, it is more of an emotional thing than anything. You see, Canada doesnt have a bible belt, we do. And I'm not saying you have to be religious to feel that nudity is inappropriate. Americans as a country are more predisposed to think nudity is unnecesary and/or bad. it's a product of being from this country. Hell, i remember German shampoo commercials with bare tits, during primetime (and we didnt even have cable). Europe and many other countries just dont consider it a big deal.

Trainspotting and 28 Days Later both have bare penis, which is almost unheard of in America. Dicks are dirty (well, many of them are....)

It comes down to mentality and use. if the audience doesnt like nudity, then any is inappropriate. If it is just there to sell tickets, i tend to think it is lame. pLus, they never had any women i was interested in naked anyway :p
