I feel sorry for the ones that are falsely accused and falsely convicted. And I am often very peeved by the police procedures that lead to these kinds of convictions....but they are in the minority. And while I want to believe that everyone deserves a second chance, I wouldn't dare put any child's life on the line to give that person that second chance. Look at the sheer number of repeat offenders and how their crimes actually worsen. The number that go in for rape and get out a few years later and start actually killing. It is frightening. And lots of times it could have been prevented.

But again, I see where you are coming from....to a point. Some people do make mistakes and then can change. I just wouldn't want to risk anyone I loved by betting on that.
