Do you remember it?

I remember I used to be babysat by this older couple. I was one of like 8 kids that were babysat everyday. One other girl and the rest were boys. Mainly what I remember was everytime we did something nice we got a cookie, and every time someone did something bad they got hit. Like training dogs eh? I don't think anybody ever told their parents or anything because I don't think he ever got in any trouble. I guess I was a good kid, because i don't remember getting in trouble really. Except I almost did this one time...

Anyway, I think I spilled juice on the carpet one day or something because I remember him yelling at me "Who did this?" I quietly pointed to one of the boys and he just smacked him really hard. The boy started crying so much that the stupid old man had to run to his cookie jar to get him to stop. Cookies solve everything when you're that age I guess.

So, do you remember your first experience with guilt?
