well, its not really - you have to follow history to see why ..
Again - taking this example specifically...
a lot of people are no better than pack animals ...
all it takes is the freedom to start saying you hate something ...
then comes the desire to do something about it ...
For blacks in north america you dont have to go back too far in history to remember a time where someone yelling that would strike fear in the hearts of people who wondered if that night was their night to suffer.
society takes the blame every time someone goes fucking crazy - so why is it wrong for society to assume a positive responsibiliy ?
There is no unfortunate and evil history behind someone yelling 'i hate the colour green' in a crowded place ... no one cares.. it is annoying but not hateful .. there's your free speech.
