Hockey had no salary cap and the salaries weren't that high but the owners got greedy and wanted to start signing all good players so they started competing over them, steadily raising their salary until the other team gave up and that's how it started, I guess you could say that the owners created monsters that they can no longer control.

I guess I can see where you're coming from. It just pissed me off because the owners made a final offer which I think was 5 million less than the players wanted. They were soooooo close....
I guess the plus side is that the little amount of hockey memorabilia I have is gonna be worth a lil' somethin'.
