Actually, the portions of the plot dealing with Ryan and sgt Wells they absolutely HAD to be Werewolves. I suppose werebadgers or wereguinea pigs may have worked, but some sort of lycanthropic creature was necesarry to the plot.
That being said, i love Dog Soldiers. Absolutely one of my favorite horror movies.
