You need to see "Walks Among Us." That's the one where the creature is on land and has human skin. Of course this is all a result of the scientist's interference. It's also the movie that has the first "sane" scientist of the trilogy who realizes that the creature is only violent in self defense. The last 30 minutes of the film are filled with irony and the final scene is a tear-jerker for sure.
