"Casino Royale" was actually made for American TV. It was on CBS and it starred American actor Barry Nelson as Bond. It aired on Oct 21, 1954 as part of the series "Climax Mystery Theater"(Perfect name for a Bond show) it also starred Peter Lorre as the villian "Le Chiffre" and Linda Christian as the first "Bond Girl". Even though it was made in Hollywood it totally lacked any of adventure and style that the "Official" Bond movies would later have.

As for the David Niven film, the only thing I liked about the movie was the poster and the Herb Alpert music.
