Well thats how I felt about TCM back in 74 I never saw Leatherface take a chainsaw and chop up everyone. I think a more propper title for TCM back in 1974 would have been Texas Wackos because thats what you do see in the movie just a wacked out family that scares people.

That's the genius of TCM though. Your imagination (remember those?) is far worse than what would have been shown in the movie. Just knowing she is hanging by a meathook as Leatherface goes to town with a chainsaw on her boyfriend is chilling enough. What you don't see in the movie helps it ten fold. I mean, that chase at the end is terrifying. Seeing the gore would have cheapened the actual horror of the movie.
As it stands now, TCM is one of the scariest movies out there. Had it been shown in all its glory, it would have been a gore hounds dream, but not frightening at all.
