yeah ..getting older changes a lot in some people .. me anyway ..
if you have kids .. and care about them .. all of a sudden anything that happens to a child anywhere effects you .. i cant help it.
the other thing is .. i dont fear death, but i respect life.
the thought of all of those people .. their dreams and goals ... future plans . everything they worked for - gone in the blink of an eye.
I know it is nature .. it happens ...
but it affects me .. and not just this ... anyone ...
there was something that happened here in toronto.
some guy minding his own business .. stopped at a red light - was pile driven into the path of 2 oncoming trucks by a drunk driver. the drunk survived (of course) and the guy was killed.
Someones dad ... son .. whatever .. thats all i could think of .. such a stupid way to die way before his time ..
I dont buy the 'that was their time' bullshit either ..most of us want to go peacefully in our sleep after we've done and experienced everything possible ..
Again it's my kid that drives a lot of how i feel .. i always want to be there for him ...
Anyway .. yeah .. its an emotional issue .. not sure how i would have felt 10 or 20 years ago but i was always kind of 'sensitive' about other peoples pain and suffering
