Wel its been 109 years since Melies made Devils Castle....well most people who go to Film School know who he is. He's made over 1,000 films. Horror, Scifi, and everything else.
The first non silent film was The Jazz Singer. The first film of all time was The Lumiere Brothers The Sprinkler Sprinkled (1895).
The Devils Castle is only 2 minutes by the way. But it was a good movie, it sounds good, but not the best.
There were alot influenced by Melies, but alot weren't. James Whale's Frankenstein isn't a remake by the way, its an adaption of the book and its way better then the 90's version.
Georges Melies made The Devils Laboratory which was a better film then Devils Castle. Also Cabby's Nightmare was better then Devils Castle, I really don't think we should argue about a film that no one still alive in the world has seen.
