Of course you can say that James Whale was inspired by the other two movies OR he could have been inspired by the book Frankenstein which, books have spawned movies.
Same with Steven King, you can't honetly think horror movies alone made him the way he is. Devil's castle is NOT the reason horror movies are what they are.
People have visions of horrible thing, which they want to express.
Saying Devil's Castle was the reason for horror movies....is in all due respect: Utter Bullshit.
