Astro-Zombies was 69, and even if there were previous zombie films, NOTLD set the standard by which all following films are graded.
There were "Space Operas" before Star Wars, but Lucas' movies set the bar.
okay, so Star wars is a bad example. Basically, if the movie created the pattern, then it started the genre. Have you seen any canniballistic walking corpse movies set atround a small group of people making due in a seemingly hopeless situation before NOTLD that had the same impact?
