It's true, of course, parents - no-one in fact - can control teens all the time.
Don't you think all parents know that? We've all been teens ourselves so don't think for one minute that we don't know the little tricks of the trade. It's why we try so hard to instil some of our "wisdom" into the thick heads of our offspring in the hope that some of it will sink in.
Rebellion is the most natural thing; it's about borders and testing where the limits are. We, as parents, give the best guidance we can (do you really think we do all these things just to get up your silly, self-centred nose??), we keep our fingers crossed and hope against hope that you'll come out the other side like something approaching a reasonable human being.
