You can shut a bike down any number of ways in a spit second! Have you ever talked to someone riding on your bitch seat at 100 MPH? you gotta yell at them so they can hear you over the wind, exhaust and engine noise (yeah, I ride HD's). By the time they talk, take a helmet off, someone else put it on, a couple of minutes have elapsed. Plenty of time to down shift, pull the spark plug, just shut the bike off OR pull in the clutch and coast etc...
The chances of his brakes going out, the throttle sticking to the point that it would not work, and the clutch failing are pretty fucking remote.

They count on people not knowing any of that. I don't think they could even hear eachother at 100 miles an hour.
