Nosferatu
I have 5 copies of Nosferatu, and as I sit here, I am watching the newest one that I just recieved. It must be the one that you are refering to regarding a "distracting" sound track, because I tell you, the sound track with this one is totally innapropriate for the movie. Distracting is an understatement. It destroys the enjoyment of the movie by allowing it to play. The music isn't bad, and the same soundtrack might have worked o.k. with a movie like Dracula 2000 or Queen of the Damned, but not a silent classic.
When it comes to Silent movies, I prefer a time/era appropriate soundtrack like what you would have heard a pianist play in a theater at the time of its original release.
