I was just watching Evil Dead (for like the millionth time...) and I thought something.

That movie could have been a million times scarier and I think it would have been better if it had been a totally serious scary movie. The sequels are purposely funny and they are great, but people forget that Evil Dead wasn't supposed to be funny at all.

I think the remake is going to be better than the original. I think Sam Raimi truly wants to remake this movie into what he wanted in the first place, a truly horrifying movie. This time around he'll have a budget that doesn't limit his creativity. You'll see, it's going to be great.

Edit: Just found out how little Raimi really cares... It could have been so great if he'd direct it. :(
