December 21: Producer talks CREEPSHOW 3
Taurus Entertainment has confirmed to FANGORIA that they are working on CREEPSHOW 3, although—as with the company’s upcoming DAY OF THE DEAD 2: CONTAGIUM—original director George Romero will not be involved. "Yes, we are currently developing the stories for CREEPSHOW 3," says Ana Clavell, who is heavily involved with the project and served as the co-director/screenwriter on CONTAGIUM. "We will respect the format of the first two films, and we’ll probably make an announcement in mid-February." As for what format the anthology film will debut on, Clavell notes, "CREEPSHOW 3 will be designed for all formats, and we will let the distributors decide where or how to exhibit it."
Clavell also mentions that she is unsure why the official DAY OF THE DEAD 2 website GOT closed, but does maintain that fans can expect to see the finished film sometime in 2005. "I’m not 100 percent sure why the webmaster decided to shut the DAY OF THE DEAD 2 site down," she says. "He cited undisclosed personal reasons, which we fully respect. However, for updates, please visit
www.taurus-entertainment.com. We’ll be posting there for the time being."
The filmmaker also tells Fango that there has been no feedback from Romero on the DAY OF THE DEAD follow-up, and that buffs should expect a very gory movie that pays homage to the classic zombie series, rather than a remake or a straight sequel. "Horror fans tend to be very knowledgeable, and I can say that my heart was in the right place," says Clavell. "I would never dream of aping a masterpiece like the DEAD trilogy." —Calum Waddell
I got this information from
Fangoria Magazine.
It won't involve George Romero, Steven King, or Tom Savini, so I'm a bit skeptical about it. The first two Creepshows were amazing, but I think it was because of those three men; without them, Creepshow 3 won't be as good. I just know it.
But I'm still looking forward to it.
