I never had anything quite as terrible as stingy's.

One year I actually made some family members feel bad (although they had no reason to). I finally had a year where i made some decent money, and i was still living at home. SO, for christmas, i bought a dvd player (My family's first) and a disc for everyone.

That year i got the Matrix and Aliens Special Edition on VHS. Everyone got disappointed, thinking i was let down that i got them on tape whjen i could have had them on disc. It took a while for them to get it into their heads that i was more interested in surprising them than getting the movies on disc. i also pointed out that none of them would ever watch either movie with me, and since i had a vcr in my room and the dvd player would be in the living room, everything worked out better that way.

Some people worry too damn much.

Interesting little back story to the whole thing. The disc i bought for the family, the first one they actually saw that i bought, was blazing saddles. I got it because it was the first movie we ever watched on our first VCR ever.

did you manage to get it out of the cover without snapping it in half ? :)
