The punters in the theatre didn't understand what film really was then and thought the damn thing was heading towards them. Apparently half the audience had ran out of the building before the peice of film had even finished.
I think that must have been the most 'horrific' event in film history since no-one understood anythin about film then.

that was a funny time .... everything had to be extremely linear too. for example you couldnt show a guy getting up, and then suddenly outside on the street .. People didnt know what was going on unless the camera showed him going out the door, down the stairs, out the front door, and onto the street.
