I enjoy them but they often make no sense at all or hang the whole story on a plot twist that's made out to be much more important than it really is (i.e. the mirror in Deep Red)
I love them for their unbridled entheusiasm though ... The Japanese make horror films in a similar vein but they are much more restrained.
At least someone is making them though ...

I have to say i like the obscure visuals or sounds that Gialli hang their plots on.
Like the "Deep Red" mirror or what he really saw through the glass in the masterful "Bird with the Crystal Plumage".
The nightmarish otherworldly reality of "The Beyond" also works well.
But t"House by..." seems to go out of it's way to be obscure.
Mostly in the fact that the Husband seems to have been at the house before, acts strangely for no reason and is recognised by various characters even though he's never been to the town before.
