You can use a halogen bulb for lighting in a almost any lamp. I would suggest using pieces of metal screen over it to spread the light out ("diffusion") so you don't get tons of harsh shadows (unless that's what you're going for).
Most camcorders have a built in microphone. Unfortunately these microphones tend to pick up the whirling motor sounds of the camera itself. If you can use an external mic, do so.
Always shoot more footage than you need. You'll thank me for that one when editing.
