i always thought they'd start out with a bit of mobility at first .. but as soon as they started to stop moving around rigor mortis would set in and they would certainly slow down.
but i guess if you can suspend your disbelief enough to accept the dead coming back to life for the sole purpose of eating the living then i guess they can run in zombie marathons for that matter ..
