I will give them all the props deserved for the Blair Witch Project. The movie wasn't that great, but they figured out a way to make a super-low budget movie (like Clerks low, around $35,000) and make it and market it in a way that would get tons of money (It earned around $29,172,381 in it's opening weekend alone, all profit, it earned $140,495,114 total domestic, all of it profit)
So if nothing else, they deserve credit for making a low-budget movie that made assloads of money
